Background

I am interested in natural language processing for unstructured medical data. My thesis is about NLP for the extraction of phenotypes for inherited retinal disease from EHR. Many of the essential information is only available in an unstructured format, a supervised machine learning pipeline is proposed for automatically identifying phenotypes from unstructured EHR, which could provide accurate diagnosis and improve personal healthcare.
